- Phrasal verbs (PVs) are a common source of difficulty for English learners. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using spaced repetition with flashcards and gif animations (referred to as Pvgifs) with online extracurricular activities through a university platform (Moodle) in learning PVs. First-year university students in Japan participated in this study and learned 60 PVs over one academic semester using flashcards and activities. The … activities included three types of task: gap-filling, translation, and gap-filling + PVgifs. The results showed that most students made significant progress from pre-test to post-test on a productive gap-filling test, regardless of whether they completed the extracurricular tasks and PVgifs. 続きを見る
